About the Business
Our practice was established roughly 70 years ago when a chemist named Mr Wyle, who used to test eyes from within his pharmacy, decided to separate the businesses. He built an extension on the side of his building so that he had a pharmacy and an optometry practice next door to one another. Around 1975 Christopher Gordon bought the optometry practice from Mr Wyle, before beginning to work tirelessly to establish it as the optometry practice to visit in the Croydon area. He spent countless hours testing eyes and surrounded himself with like-minded individuals who were passionate about optics, and dedicated to providing indisputable eye care. One of those people was Heather Bailey. At the time that she began working for Mr Gordon, Heather was fresh out of university and practicing as a pre-registration optician. It wasn't long before she had qualified and soon an invaluable member of the team at the practice.
