About the Business
Hi, I am Sue Wassall and I am a professional optometrist. I have always wanted to work in a caring profession and spent the last 25 years providing professional eyecare to patients in Hampshire and beyond.
In between my degree and completing professional exams, I did a pre-registration year in an independent opticians (a long established, respected family business in Portsmouth). My early training provided me with an understanding of my professional responsibilities and an awareness that the highest standards of care is expected of me at all times. In gaining further experience in the contrasting environments of 'independent practices' and 'high street chain stores' (where there was a culture of 'targets' aimed at gaining higher throughput), this helped me identify where my future lay. Thus when the opportunity arose, I took over ownership of two established independent practices in Lee-on-Solent and Wickham, in Feb 1999.
